Based in Shepparton, Apex Earthworks delivers a wide variety of civil and bulk earthworks projects throughout the Goulburn Valley including irrigation channel remediation, pipeline construction, road works, sub-divisions and landfill construction to some of the region’s largest clients. As part of our commitment to up-skilling and developing our team, we are looking for a motivated civil/construction project engineer to join our team full time. Working directly with our Construction Manager, Project Managers and dedicated delivery team, this position will provide hands on opportunities to learn all aspects of delivering high quality construction projects in the civil infrastructure industry. This role is suited to graduates through to 5 years experienced professionals who are looking to step up in their career.

What can you expect from the role?
This role will work along side our project and construction managers to learn and assist in all aspects of project planning, execution and delivery. Examples of the tasks that may be required include:
Assist in all aspects of project delivery from tender through to practical completion, as directed by the project manager
Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings to estimate quantities
Completing project procurement activities such as estimating and ordering materials, assisting in evaluating subcontractor quotes
Assisting in completing project site inspections to review safety and quality of work
Completing project management documentation such as permit applications, project management plans and traffic management plans
Provide general on-site assistance to the construction team
Essential requirements for the role.
Tertiary qualification in construction/civil engineering (bachelor of civil engineering and masters in construction management)
Minimum 6mths on site experience
Demonstrated understanding of basic of project management principles
Demonstrated use of Topcon Positioning systems
Basic skills in planning and organising work activities
Strong and clear communication skills with proven ability to engage others
Advanced problem solving skills, with a focus on innovation and initiative
Effective organisational and time management skills – proven ability to work to and meet tight deadlines
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft office skills – MS Word, Excel essential
Basic understanding and skills using Appsheet
A love for regional Victoria and commitment to live in Shepparton or surrounds
Valid Australian drivers license and authority to work full-time in Australia
